Course outline

Your driver education program consists of ten hours of private behind the wheel training, as well as twenty hours of classroom instruction. The classroom is designed to promote conversation between the students and the instructor, and there are several slides and videos to offer you valuable information for years to come. Topics discussed in the classroom include but are not limited to defensive driving*, effects of drugs and alcohol, and because we are in Canada, of course, winter driving. Also outlined is basic vehicle maintenance, insurance, and tips on buying a vehicle.

Your in-car lessons will be arranged around your personal schedule and will begin shortly after the start of your classroom program. In order for you to take full advantage of your in-car sessions we suggest two in car lessons per week.

* Defensive driving is dealing with attitudes. It teaches students how to see and how to think. It is being able to anticipate, to assess and to avoid a potential situation before it happens.
